IV THERAPY

Provide documentation of a minimum of ten (10) hours of education related to IV Therapy, which are obtained within the previous two (2) period if lapsed for less than 2 years.  This must be documented on the continuing education record included in the application, and official evidence must be attached;

Or

Provide evidence of successful completion of a board approved IV Therapy course if lapsed for more than two (2) years.  The course must include both theory and clinical, minimum of 40 clock hours.

The evidence of completion must include:

  • The name and course provider and /or agency
  • Name and dates of course and/or in-service
  • Name, title and signature of personnel responsible for course; and
  • The number of hours earned.

Hemodialysis

The LPN performing hemodialysis must have successfully completed education and training certified by the Mississippi State Department of Health and licensed as a dialysis unit, consisting of both theory and clinical for hemodialysis.

 The LPN that has never completed a hemodialysis training program through a licensed dialysis unit must receive education and training before being permitted to perform acts of hemodialysis.

 Evidence of education and training must be documented and accessible for audit purposes.

 The LPN who endorses a license and has successfully completed a hemodialysis training program through a licensed dialysis unit in another jurisdiction must complete a Board approved hemodialysis delineation course before performing acts of hemodialysis.

The evidence of completion must include:

  • The number of hours earned.
