I am excited to announce that the Mississippi Board of Nursing will be helping to lead the fight against heart disease and stroke and working to build a culture of health in our community. We are supporting the American Heart Association’s 2021 Metro Jackson Heart Walk; a fun, family event that promotes physical activity as part of a heart-healthy lifestyle. Please join us and mark your calendars for November 13, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. at the Mississippi Museum of Art.
Heart Walk is what enables the AHA to impact the health of all Americans in ways such as: addressing barriers to health equity and drivers of health disparities, helping hospitals provide better treatment for cardiac and stroke patients, advocating for access to healthcare and AEDs in the community, and so much more.
Register today so that we can all do our part. Click here now: MS Board of Nursing and select “Create a Team” or join a team that has already been created and follow the prompts. If you need registration assistance, email email@example.com. Once you’re registered, download the Heart Walk mobile app and connect your page to a Facebook fundraiser! If you are unable to attend, you can still register to participate virtually and support the MBON teams!
Here are a few more fun ways to participate this year:
- Share a picture from your Heart Walk using #HeartWalkJXN
- Tag Metro Jackson Facebook Page when sharing: https://www.facebook.com/AHAMississippi
- Download the Heart Walk mobile app and join the Move More Activity Challenge now through November 11th!
We would also like to invite you to bring your families with you to the Heart Walk on November 13th. This event does not require an entry fee and is a non-competitive 5k walk. Don’t forget to bring your dog, too! We appreciate your enthusiasm, and we look forward to celebrating with our MBON family on November 13th.
