Position: LPN

City: Poplarville, MS

Appointed by Governor: Bryant

District:4
Date Appointed: 10/13/2016, Term Expiration:6/30/2026

I am from Poplarville, MS where I along with my husband of 21 years raise our three beautiful children on a farm that has been in our family for over 100 years. My husband and I are both Nurses, I am an LPN and he is an RN, so we stay very busy with our children, careers, and farm and we absolutely love how beautifully crazy our life is.

I began my Nursing career as a student at Pearl River Community College-Poplarville Campus in the fall of 2006, from there I worked in many areas of nursing such as: Long Term Care, Med-Surg, ED, Post-op, Home Health, and as a Certified Nurse Aide Educator. I have been thoroughly blessed to not only have a career I absolutely adore but am honored to be a part of an amazing group of Nurses with the Mississippi State Board of Nursing! I am very active at MBON by participating on the Administrative Code Committee as well as chairing the LPN Feasibility Committee for the Transfer of LPN Programs, I have grown and learned so much in these positions from the great Nurses that play a vital role in shaping the future of Nursing in Mississippi. I look forward to serving Mississippi in the capacity to protect the public and assist with the future of Nursing for this great state!

I would like to share my absolute favorite quote with all of you to inspire us all and the motto that I live by…

“I’ve learned people may forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will NEVER forget how you made them feel.”  ~Maya Angelou
