The Mississippi Board of Nursing regulates and issues state certifications to Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians (CCHT).  A CCHT performs limited functions of hemodialysis under the direct supervision of a RN. Information about the qualifications to be state certified as a CCHT, CCHT scope of practice, and CCHT training programs can be found in the Administrative Code, Part 2860.

The CCHT certification renewal period is from May 1st to July 31st of odd numbered years. The CCHT renewal application will only be made active during the renewal periods.

The Board of Nursing does not require submission of continuing education to renew the CCHT certification. However, the Board of Nursing does require that national certification from the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC), Board of Nephrology Examiners for Nursing and Technology (BONENT), or the National Nephrology Certification Organization (NNCO) be active in order to renew state certification.
