A nurse may apply to the Board for restoration of licensure or privilege to practice one (1) year after the date the Final Order is executed. See Miss. Code Ann. § 73-15-31 (7). The denial of an application to renew an existing license is treated in all respects as a revocation, which may be appealed.
Restoration applications are presented before a three-member Board hearing panel. The hearing panel, in its discretion, may restore or deny licensure or privilege to practice. A licensee whose restoration application is denied may appeal from the three-member hearing panel to the Full Membership of the Board in accordance with Mississippi Code Annotated 73-15-31(9).

Restorations vs. Reinstatements
Restorations are required when a nursing license or privilege has been disciplined, revoked, or suspended.
Reinstatements are required when a license has expired or lapsed.
